Can I be real here? A few weeks ago I did something very outside of my comfort zone. I am an introvert to the core. I don’t like chit chat… I don’t like crowds… I need my alone time… I don’t like being around a group of people I don’t know. However – it seems as though the stars aligned & I happened to come across a workshop that was being put on by the one and only Spanki Mills. She’s a soulful photographer out of Austin. I’ve followed her work for some time. I adore her work. It’s raw and emotional and connected. Just what I want to capture when I take photographs. So – after a lot of prayer and reflection, I decided to go for it. I can’t tell you how glad I am that I did. The ladies I met are all phenomenal. The knowledge I gained, irreplaceable. The experience I had, memorable. There’s so much more I can say about it & will post more photos of the weekend itself in another post.

For now, I wanted to show you the beautiful family who came to model for us Sunday afternoon. They were a joy to photograph & could not have been cuter.

I was able to photograph our friend’s daughter with her pony a couple weeks ago. We walked around the property and caught some sweet moments between her & Elvis. Can you believe these stables are in the heart of Dallas? So fun.

It was so fun spending time with this family in the park. This little one will soon have a baby in the house! I can’t wait to see them when the baby arrives & capture those memories too. For now they are soaking up these moments of being a family of three.

These two little girls stole my heart. The Hunter boots, the perfect cotton dresses, the toothless grins & the bows. It was a dream session. Photographing sisters is one of my favorite things to do. They can look back on these in 20 years and remember pieces of their childhood. They’ll be so thankful to their mommy who took the time and effort to arrange to have their photos taken. Things are turning green again in Lakewood, and it’s not too hot. It’s the best time for photographing your little ones.

I watched these girls play in the field (& get a little muddy). We chased butterflies and picked flowers. It was such a fun session.

Sisters are the best of friends. I am so lucky to have a little sister of my own & can’t imagine life without her.

It was so fun being able to photograph our friends’ precious new baby girl! Big brother did a great job, too. They have recently renovated their home and you can really see all the loving details they included. It was a beautiful space to photograph in and a perfect backdrop for their new little bundle. She is one very loved and prayed for little girl. We are so happy to see this family grow.
